Respiration happens both animals and plants, but there are some difference in the process of respiration.
|Respiration in Plants||Respiration in Animals|
|1. Plants take in oxygen trough Stomata, lenticels and the general surface of the root.||1. Animals take in oxygen through lungs.|
|2. Carbon di-oxide is released as a by product in the process and is reabsorbed for Photosynthesis.||2. Carbon di-oxide is released as a by-product in the process and is not taken back.|
|3. The glucose and oxygen used for respiration are produced by the plants themselves.||3. The food and oxygen used for respiration are taken from outside.|
|4. The rate of respiration is slow in plants.||4. The rate of respiration is very fast in animals.|
