Respiration happens both animals and plants, but there are some difference in the process of respiration.

1. Plants take in oxygen trough Stomata, lenticels and the general surface of the root. | 1. Animals take in oxygen through lungs. |
2. Carbon di-oxide is released as a by product in the process and is reabsorbed for Photosynthesis. | 2. Carbon di-oxide is released as a by-product in the process and is not taken back. |
3. The glucose and oxygen used for respiration are produced by the plants themselves. | 3. The food and oxygen used for respiration are taken from outside. |
4. The rate of respiration is slow in plants. | 4. The rate of respiration is very fast in animals. |
